Residents in north Oxfordshire have for more than a year been enjoying taking part in the Cherwell Community Lottery – and now they have the opportunity of a fabulous holiday prize in addition to the normal chance of a £25,000 jackpot and other weekly cash prizes.
It costs just £1 to take part in the lottery and in the process of doing so support your local community. Since its launch the Cherwell Community Lottery has raised more than £9,000 for its Cherwell Community Grant Fund and so far 88 good causes have signed up. It really is a win-win opportunity for individual people and the Cherwell communities in which they live.
The latest innovation is that people who enter the lottery before 31 October will join existing members in being in with the chance of winning a Family Forest Staycation.
The prize is a break worth £500 with Forest Holidays who have a variety of locations situated in some of the UK’s most beautiful forests from Scotland to Cornwall and Snowdonia to Norfolk.
Councillor Andrew McHugh, Cherwell District Council’s Lead Member for Health and Wellbeing said: “The Cherwell Community Lottery is going from strength to strength and we are happy to be able to offer this new prize. Community good-causes are benefiting and local residents are experiencing the warm feeling of entering a lottery that they know could both benefit them and provide much-needed support to organisations within their own community. I would encourage everyone who lives in the Cherwell area to join up.”
Should holidays become problematic due to COVID-19 there will be a cash alternative or the option to take the holiday much later.
The draw is on 31 October and the results will be notified at 8 pm on the Cherwell Lottery website.
