Cherwell District Council checks and updates voter details every year. You will probably have received an Electoral Register letter recently – if the details about members of your household are correct, most people don’t need to do anything. Some may be asked to confirm details, but the letter will make it clear how to do this. If details need to be updated, or you are new to the area, the easiest way to do this is online.
This year’s local elections have been delayed until May next year, but being registered to vote is vital for anything that involves a credit check.
The final stage of the annual canvass is door-knocking, which will be scheduled for autumn. The council will look to minimise this in light of the public health situation, making it especially important that people respond as promptly as they can.
