Previous GWE Parish Council

We hope that all of our parish residents are still ok during this period of continuing uncertainty. The Parish Council is still working and available to deal with concerns as required. The clerk can be contacted on email clerk@gosfordandwatereaton-pc.gov.uk or via our new telephone number: 01865 819863.

Councillor emails are available on our website should you wish to contact them directly: http://www.gosfordandwatereaton-pc.gov.uk/

Planning application 20/01621/F: 66 Bicester Road, Gosford, Kidlington, OX5 2LF was received– Councillors decided there was gross overdevelopment. The council has objected to this on this basis and also it will impact the light of the neighbours.

We are still waiting for the inspectorate report regarding the Unmet Housing proposed developments. Updates will be cascaded through our mailing list and on the website and noticeboards as we have them.

Covid 19 testing: Oxford Parkway has been set up as a testing station for Covid 19. At the time of writing this has not caused any additional parking or traffic issues.

Climate Emergency: Gosford and Water Eaton PC has declared a watching brief and will continue to review.

Parish Newsletter: The latest parish newsletter will be hand delivered to households and businesses within the parish before the end of July.

Cycle Path:The clerk has spoken with OCC and the Healthy Place scheme regarding a potential cycle path down the Bicester Road. We continue to wait for further updates.

Play areas: The play areas are now open in line with government guidance – appropriate permanent signage is in place. Please enjoy the play areas responsibly and we encourage social distancing and the use of hand sanitiser before and after using the equipment.  A new noticeboard is being placed on the railings of Cromwell Way park.

Library copies of minutes: The library is still closed so at the moment minutes including the latest minute book are not in there. As soon as it reopens copies will be placed in the library.

Litter: Litter and over flowing dog bins at Stratfield Brake has been noted and this has been reported to CDC and Legacy Leisure to be resolved.  There is increasing litter at Sainsbury’s – the clerk has contacted Sainsbury’s management requesting that they do a regular litter pick of their areas to keep this tidy and to protect the environment.

Next meeting of the full council: is 4th August 2020 – Virtual meeting via Zoom. Details will be on our website (and on the top of the agenda).

Anyone within Gosford and Water Eaton Parish who would like to join a mailing list for latest updates within the parish should email the clerk at clerk@gosfordandwatereaton-pc.gov.uk – please include your name and address.

Please also refer to notices on the noticeboard which is being installed on Cromwell Way park railings before the end of July.
