Heaven has gained an angel tonight We lost our Captain Tom He showed the world how to help each other When life was going wrong. A simple gesture He walked a mile Up and down,and with a smile. But he exceeded much more than that Astonishingly as it sounds The final total I believe Over 39 million pounds. Sir Tom that was amazing As worried families prayed Extra help came their way With the money that you'd raised. I know you didn't know me But I believe I understood Do our best in all of life I promise now I would. You walked around your garden For many miles a day But all those miles created cash For the NHS today. So yes Heaven gained an angel Sadly you lost your fight But the NHS is in a better place Because of you tonight.
